The DC 8-62 was designed as a long-haul aircraft with a very large range . She got a longer fuselage and improved / extended wing than its predecessor version DC 8-50 .
The model shown here is that of a combined passenger cargo aircraft , identified by the cargo door in the front left part of the aircraft .

HB - IDK was delivered to Swissair in August 1969, was called the " Matterhorn " .
She stood by December 1981 at the application and was then sold through a broker to the Peruvian Air Force .
