The Original Vehicle: The BMW Z4 E89

The BMW Z4 E89 is the second generation of the Z4 roadster series and was manufactured from 2009 to 2016. The sports car was developed and produced at the BMW plant in Regensburg. The most significant innovation of the BMW Z4 E89 compared to its predecessor, the Z4 E85, is the retractable hardtop that transforms the roadster into a coupe. This design was created by Juliane Blasi and Nadya Arnaout, who are responsible for the aesthetic design and unique shaping.

The BMW Z4 E89 impresses with its sporty elegance and powerful engines. Various petrol engines were available, including the Z4 sDrive23i with 204 horsepower, the Z4 sDrive28i with 245 horsepower, and the Z4 sDrive35is with 340 horsepower. Additionally, the model was also offered with an efficient yet powerful diesel engine, the sDrive20d. All engines were available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The top speed was an impressive 250 km/h (155 mph), while the Z4 mDrive35is combines unique sportiness with comfort.
