The Story of the BMW 320i (E21)
In 1975, BMW introduced the first generation of the 3 Series, the BMW E21. This model series succeeded the BMW 02 and set new standards in the compact class. The BMW 320i (E21) was heavily influenced by designer Paul Bracq and engineer Bernhard Osswald, impressing both on the road and on the racetrack. The BMW 320i featured a powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 125 horsepower and reaching a maximum torque of 165 Nm (121.7 ft-lb).
