This is GAZ Volga M 22. The model is made by Hongwell for Nash Avtoprom in scale 1:43. Nothing opens.
The first prototypes of the station wagon, which later received the GAZ-22 "Volga" index, appeared in the mid-50s. The station wagon was significantly different from the sedan, after the B-pillar it already had its own body panels, although they were made from the standard sidewalls of the GAZ-21 sedan, from which the rear upper part was manually cut off, and a separately stamped part was attached in its place. The rest of the body and units of the GAZ-22 were exactly the same as that of the "Twenty-first Volga" of the third series (GAZ-21R and GAZ-21US) produced in 1065-1970.
The GAZ-22 station wagon sold for personal use to Yuri Nikulin.
The first serial station wagon GAZ-22 "Volga" left the gates of the automobile plant "GAZ" in 1962, and in 1965 the car underwent modernization, after which it became known as the GAZ-22V. Later, the plant released an export version of the station wagon with an improved design under the GAZ-22G index, this modification, like the GAZ-21M sedan, was distinguished by increased chrome plating of individual body elements.
It was impossible to buy a GAZ-22 car for personal use, with rare exceptions, this exception was the artist Yuri Nikulin, who was sold a station wagon for transporting circus equipment. All other GAZ-22 Volga cars were distributed among state organizations: to taxi companies, trade organizations, to ambulance services and as a command vehicle for the fire service. GAZ-22 cars carried passengers with bulky luggage as a taxi. The medical modification of the GAZ-22B had attachments for a stretcher in the back and minimal medical equipment, the interior was heated, with good lighting, and was separated from the driver's seat by a partition.
In 1970, the GAZ-22 "Volga" station wagon was discontinued and was replaced by a massive station wagon based on the "twenty-fourth Volga".
Compared to the sedan, the GAZ-22 station wagon turned out to be quite roomy, with a high ceiling, with the rear seats folded down, a flat area for cargo was obtained. The rear door consisted of two halves, the upper part with glass opened up, and the lower part folded down, forming a flat surface of the same height as the trunk.
Another difference from the sedan was the stiffer springs, as well as larger tires. This made it possible to transport goods weighing up to 180 kilograms with five passengers on board, or two passengers and 400 kilograms of cargo.
The GAZ-22 station wagons were equipped with exactly the same engine as the sedan, for cars that remained inside the country they installed a ZMZ21 / 21A engine with a volume of 2445 cm3 and a capacity of 75 horsepower, and export models were equipped with a ZMZ-21D / E engine with an increased to 85 horsepower power. But the automatic transmission was not installed on the station wagon; only a 3-speed manual was installed on it.
