This is Lada 2106. The model is made by Hongwell for Bauer in scale 1:43. The model has working suspension and the front doors open. The 2106 replaced the 2103 and differed from it in a number of ways, most noticeably it had revised headlights and grille, different bumpers and a rear light cluster including reversing lamps. It was developed alongside the Vaz-2121/Lada Niva and many parts were shared between the cars, most notably the 1600cc engine but also many lights, wing mirrors and other small features.
In the second half of the 1990s the 2106 was given a facelift which involved the removal of many chrome parts and their replacement with matt black items as well as a matt black plastic grille. Inside the ‘wooden dashboard’ gave way to a black one and the seating was brought up to date.
In addition to the 1600cc version the car was more often sold with a 1500cc engine and might also be bought with a and 1300cc engine in some markets. As was usual special cars were made tailored to the demands of particular overseas markets like the Canadian market Lada SIgnet.
