This is ZIL 117 convertible conversion. The model is made by Saratov in scale 1:43. Everything opens.
ZIL-117 was created in 1971 on the basis of the ZIL-114 government limousine and had the same strict and harmonious forms. Despite the reduction in length and wheelbase, the silhouette of the car remained swift and elegant, fully in line with the semi-official image of ZIL cars. Externally, the ZIL-117 also differed in a different design of the front of the body.
In terms of its status, the ZIL-117 was considered one step lower than the ZIL-114 and ZIL-115 limousines and relied on candidates for membership in the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee and members of the USSR Government. In the last years of stagnation, Brezhnev's personal referents also began to use 117 ZILs, which was immediately suppressed after Yu. V. Andropov came to power.
The ZIL-117 chassis, like the ZIL-114, was based on a powerful frame with high torsional rigidity. The suspension of the wheels (front torsion bar with a longitudinal arrangement of torsion bars) was equipped with a system that prevents “pecking” during heavy braking, which also significantly reduced body roll in corners, and an ABS system.
The interior equipment of the ZIL-117 corresponded to the ZIL-114 limousine and included: power steering, steering wheel tilted for ease of entry and exit of the driver, power windows of all doors with electric drives, central locking of door locks, air conditioning, athermal windows.
The equipment of the ZIL-117 could be the envy of a modern high-class car. And in terms of luxury and interior comfort, as well as its driving performance, it would give odds to such contemporaries as Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
Even if you do not take into account the fact that each future "owner" of the car could order an individual interior trim, the car had excellent factory equipment, even by modern automotive standards. The limousine was equipped with:
automatic hydromechanical transmission with a control selector on the steering column.
power steering.
air conditioning.
dethermal (heat-absorbing) glasses with a greenish tint;
power windows equipped with electric drives;
door locks with central locking.
wheel suspension equipped with a system that prevents “nose pecking” during braking and reduces body roll when cornering.
ABS.
The sedan was equipped with a V-shaped eight-cylinder engine from ZIL-114 with an aluminum cylinder block, a four-chamber carburetor, a transistor ignition system and hydraulic (maintenance-free) valve lifters. The car engine developed a power of 300 Horsepower.
