ZIL-117 was created in 1971 on the basis of the ZIL-114 government limousine and had the same strict and harmonious forms. The sedan was equipped with a V-shaped eight-cylinder engine from ZIL-114 with an aluminum cylinder block, a four-chamber carburetor, a transistor ignition system and hydraulic (maintenance-free) valve lifters. The car engine developed a power of 300 Horsepower.
