This is YaG - 5D. It is a diesel truck from The Soviet Union from 1933. The model is made by Ultra Models in scale 1:43. YaG - 5 is a Soviet heavy truck with a payload of 5 tons, produced at the Yaroslavl State Automobile Plant from 1929 to 1934. The design of the truck was based on an earlier model of the same plant YaG - 4, the main difference from which was the use of an imported (American) power unit - a Hercules engine, a Long or Brown-Lipe clutch, a Brown-Lipe gearbox . Production of YaG - 5 began in the second half of 1929 and continued until 1934. During this time, 2,273 trucks YaG -5 were manufactured. This number does not include 364 chassis YaG - 6 which is a long-bodied variant of YaG - 5. The termination of production of the YaG-5 truck is due to the decision taken to abandon on January 1, 1932, from the import of power units. This decision, in turn, was due to the development at the Stalin Plant of production of the truck AMO-3. The power unit of this machine (a copy of the American Hercules-WXB) had a capacity of 60 liters, from. - one and a half times lower than that installed on the YaG - 5 Hercules-YXC-B. Nevertheless, since 1932 the AMO-3 engine has been installed on the YaG chassis - the new truck has received the designation YAG-3. Formally, the YaG-5 production ceased on this basis, and all the remaining Hercules-YXC-B engines were reserved by the military for the production of the three-axis YAG-10. However, small YaG-5 series continued to be produced - in 1933-1934 another 48 Yakovlev trucks were manufactured.
