The Ford Focus RS is a legendary vehicle in the hot hatch scene, produced in its third generation from 2009 to 2011. This generation of the Ford Focus RS is based on the Ford Focus (MK2) and underwent significant enhancements to bring racing technology to the street. It was powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine that produced 305 horsepower and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. The engine was produced by the Swedish manufacturer Volvo and was considered one of the most powerful engines of its time in a production vehicle of this class. The engine was developed, among others, by engineer Knut Barrling, known for his pioneering work in turbocharging technology.
