In June 1948, the first production of "Ferry" Porsche was approved. The beautifully designed Porsche 356 was built in the Austrian town of Gmünd (Carinthia). Some components came from the VW model "Beetle", e.g. The front and rear axles and also the engine. Hand-formed aluminum sheets were fitted over a steel tube frame.
This resulted in the unmistakable shape of the vehicle. The car remained a single piece.
Engine:
4 cylinder boxer engine, 1130 ccm displacement and a power of 35 hp. This was sufficient for a top speed of 135 km / h.
The model:
Beautifully implemented model of AUTOart. It is the museum expedition for Porsche. The model is characterized by a perfect lacquering and an extremely small gap. The few details are very well implemented, e.g. The three-spoke steering wheel. The front and rear hoods are fitted with filigree hinges.
