The Ferrari 365 GTB / 4.
A vehicle whose "nickname" is often better known than the actual type designation.
Many know the Ferrari "Daytona", but few know that the vehicle was officially called 365.
The name "Daytona" owes this fast car to its outstanding victory in the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours.

The car was built between 1969 and 1973 and became an unexpected success. The magazine "Auto Motor + Sport" described the "Daytona" as the symbol of a men's car.

Engine:
The 4.4. Liter big 12-cylinder engine made up to 450 hp.
It should remain for a long time the last Ferrari with front engine.

The first 365 wore a Plexiglas band in the front area, behind which the headlights hid. New laws in the US banned this, however, and so were the "Daytonas" rebuilt and instead used folding headlights.
Legend has it that only the Export Ferraris should carry folding headlamps, but Enzo Ferrari spontaneously decided to build all the "Daytonas" at the sight of this new front. (One man, one word, one law ......;))

Also less well known is that the Daytona was the first winner of the legendary "Cannonball Race" in the USA. In 1971, the winner drove the 4625 kilometers in just under 36 hours!

The model:
Excellent model from Kyosho. Low gap mass, wonderful details and a very well reproduced interior characterize the vehicle.
