The BMW 3.0 CSL (the abbreviation standing for Coupe Sport Lightweight) with the unmistakable attachments was dubbed "Batmobile" due to the large rear wing. For the road version but was no authorization, so that the rear wing was always included in the delivery in the trunk.
In racing, the CSL was but successful.
engine:
6 cylinders with 3153 cc and a power of 350 hp. This reads today not very spectacular, but you should the construction period from 1973 - 1975 look ......

BMW Art Car:
A BMW 3.0 CSL was founded in 1975 for the first BMW Art Car. On a proposal of the racer Hervé Poulain, the American artist Alexander Calder painted a race car based on a BMW 3.0 CSL. Hervé Poulain drove this car with Sam Posey and Jean Guichet in the 24-hour race at Le Mans 1975th

The model:
The BMW Museum commissioned Minichamps with the implementation of the whole Art Car series.
The model has been implemented beautifully, applied the decals perfect. Inside the racing version was designed great. The flocked race seat, the barren interior and inserted additional details such as ventilation pipe and switches are very detailed.
The models of the Art Car series now sell partly to 1000.- Euro. !
