Citroen DS 21 ...... "The Goddess"
1955 this car was presented for the first time and immediately found a ready market.
It was a style icon like no other vehicle.
In the first models a 1900ccm engine with 75 bhp was installed, which accelerated the car to 140 km / h then a quite normal value for a sedan
After that there were different engine variants up to 2.3 liter engine with 126 hp for 185 km / h.
Special features:
The name "the Goddess" is derived from a pun on the French. "DS" in favor of such "Déessee" (French for: "Goddess").
Not all models had the famous steering-linked curve lights, but there were at the luxury versions even headlights, which offset the deceleration and acceleration movements.
A tire change came following procedure: You put a special rod in an opening on the underside, so leaning the vehicle and let the hydraulic on the deepest level. The wheel in question withdrew himself into the air.
The vehicles had a 2-stage horn. Rather quiet for city driving and a "stronger" version (with compressor !!!) for the Highway
The model shown here is an early version , even without the steering-linked headlights .
The model is working very nicely . Engine compartment and interior are top . The painting is unique and very clean. As a special feature , the suspension can be adjusted to the underbody with a little lever , so that a realistic " suspension " can be shown .
