1963 the successor to the Mercedes type 190 SL and 300 SL was presented at the Motor Show in Geneva. The name "Pagoda" came from the shape of the roof, respectively. the hardtop, which is higher on the outer edges and drops slightly inward.
There 3 versions were built. From 1963-1967 the SL 230, SL 250 1967 and from 1968 to 1971 the SL 280. A total of nearly 50,000 copies of were "Pagoda" prepared.

Engine: 6-cylinder, 2.3 liter to 2.8 liters and a power output between 150 and 170 hp.
This was enough for a top speed of 200 km / h.

An amusing detail:
At that time, many, today natural accessories to get only an additional cost. Headrests cost as 220.- DM additionally stops, power steering 600.- DM, safety belts (!) 80.- DM.
A built-in car phone (with A-net) cost 10,000 Mark!

The model:
Excellent crafted model of Schuco. The smallest details are implemented cleanly. The simulated leather structure of the seats with their vent holes is unique. The glove box can be opened and even a key is in the ignition. The motor wiring is accurately reproduced and the paint spotless.
