The Chevrolet Corvette C3 is an icon of American automotive history. This model was produced from 1968 to 1982 and was the third generation of the Corvette series. The design process was mainly led by Larry Shinoda, a talented designer who significantly contributed to the distinctive look of the C3. Mechanically, the C3 was based on the Mako Shark II concept study. The sporty silhouette and striking design make the Chevrolet Corvette C3 a popular classic to this day. This generation replaced the Chevrolet Corvette C2, also known as the Sting Ray.
The Chevrolet Corvette C3 was available as both a coupe and a convertible and featured a variety of technical improvements. The model was equipped with different engines that reached outputs from 300 to 435 horsepower. A significant technical innovation was the optional ABS brake assist, as well as independent rear suspensions, which gave the vehicle improved driving dynamics. Engines like the 427 cubic-inch V8 "Big-Block" engine with 7.0 liters (427 cubic inches) of displacement were exceptionally powerful. The driving feel and control were improved by the special chassis and innovative suspension. The car reached a top speed of over 200 km/h (124 mph), which was very impressive for that time.

These examples help to understand the age of the vehicle in context. Other notable features of the original Chevrolet Corvette C3 are the flip-up headlights and the removable T-top roofs, adding to customization options.
